Lightbulb Using FTP to Migrate => Preserving...

Hey guys... I just purchased a new dedicated server and for the first time I will be migrating my website from my old host to this new dedicated server on my own. I will be using WS_FTP to ftp all my files over to the new server. I need to download all files to my home computer then upload them to my new server. My question is this:

Is there a way to download then upload all my files while maintaining the proper chmod settings for each file?

I have a lot of cgi/perl scripts that require special chmod settings for files and directories. I would definitely like to know if there is a setting in FTP program to keep these file permissions in tact. Thanks for your help!
