A Buddhist Library - pages overflow to the right

Could someone have a look at my site and let me know how to fix this - it should be pretty simple, but I'm a 'newbie', and dependant on the kindness of others (that means you guys)

The site I've made can be seen at www.abuddhistlibrary.com

I solved my alignment problems - where text and images were scooting around on different browsers.

Now my problem is that five of the pages overflow to the right (on some computer screens) - meaning you have to scroll to the right to see all of the page... the five are

1. Miscellaneous
2. World Religions
3. From The Indian Tradition
4. Islam
and
5. Poetry

(numbers 3 and 4 can be found by going first to the World Religions page - via any navigation bar on any page)

I replaced the World Religion page with one with the images closer together and moved to the right - that helped some, but not completely....

Thanks for your help, and enjoy the site!

ps. Tell your friends if this is something you thinki they might like (ie., 400 books, 6,000 articles on these subjects...)

Your problem is rather simple, the people who have to scroll to the right are those who have their screen set to 800x600 or less (do people still use 640x480?) and everyone else including you have their screens set to 1024x768 or more.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=107517

It's a pretty common problem that's why most tutorials I've seen suggest you design your page for the lowest screen resolution your visitor will most likely have to avoid this problem. That use to be 640x480 but I think it is safe to go with 800x600 now-a-days (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

or you can set widths to some kind of percent, so that the element seen on screen will adjust to the screen size. I look at your source code and see that some tags are already like this but since your using frontpage it difficult to see what needs to be change so I suggest you go with the first option.

**Now on a small side note I'd like to offer a tip or suggestion if you like, you should always choose you bg carefully since they can make the text hard to read and that is something we don't want. Like the one on your main page that bright yellow makes it hard to see the blue/purple of the links.**

more tips:
link 1
link 2

just two pages I found useful when I was starting out thought you might too.

Yeah I designed all of my recent site-s for 800 x 600 because anyone who has a 640 x 480 screen shoulid be used to it by now

Actually the problem is this:

Code:

those things are "Non-Breaking Spaces", which means they're spaces that don't overflow.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=107517

You've obviously pressed spacebar numerous times in your html editor (<meta content="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0" name="GENERATOR">), and that's the cause of the scrolling.

Go into code view and delete all of the &nbsp; tags.
