Question is Appraisal service really necessary?

HI

I am a domain selling noob ! so I could really do with your help
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/warnings-and-alerts/742686-is-appraisal-service-really-necessary.html

I have recently received an email from a potential buyer, saying that he is interested in buying my domain but he would only pay for it if I get manual domain appraisal? (that cost like 50 euros)

I have told him that I do not use domain appraisals and that HE CAN order an appraisal to evaluate my domain value.

So my question is, is appraisal really necessary? surely if he really wants my domain name, he would go and pay for an appraisal himself??

Please help, thank you

You answer was good.
There are enough sites available for free to check out the value e.g. valuate.com

Also search for appraisal scam here at namepros.

You are not the first person who has received such email. As said above, it's a scam.

All appraisals are scam, because only the buyer knows how bad he needs a given domain and why, and only the seller knows how fast he needs to sell and for how much. All the rest is domain trader related matter, and nothing to do with buyer and seller. Anyway, it is not the seller to pay for a valuation - It's the buyer!
