2 Parter ~ :) Np$ Section and Warnings ?

2 Parter ~ Np$ Section and Warnings ?

1 - Shouldn't We (I) be able to see Np$ Threads within the New Posts Search Option ?

2 - Is there an appropriate section to Post "Warnings" such as Spoofs etc ... - Note : Don't mean the type things that should be reported to Mods first but like : http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/72246-paypal-spoof-phishing-again.html

Thx Guys ~

Do you mean like a separate Forum ... a la a new "Industry Warnings Forum" here on the Namepros site, All4?
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/warnings-and-alerts/72250-2-parter-np-section-and-warnings.html
If I'm correct ... please share more on the idea.
Thanks!

I think he's talking about a "scams" forum type arrangement, if I'm not mistaken.
Something akin to an appropriate location for all of the "I can't believe what these morons are sending me now" sort of setup, to establish a place for these warnings, and to educate some users.

Well - I was really just wondering if there was a more appropriate place to post items as above. I first thought Industry News for some reason ... and afterwards thought maybe it should be in Newbies ... But as Good as some of these Emails/Sites are set up now , I don't really consider it to be just a problem for newbies.

I'm definitely not saying to start a Forum for People to Post "Joe Schmo" is a Scammer or anything - as These things should be for "Mods Eyes Only" at First.

I believe we all agree there is room for threads like these as long as they aren't overly Duplicated. - Just wondering Where ?

Thanks ~

I think industry news would suit it best, or possibly the break room, but you need to be careful about personal posts etc. (i.e. Joe Schmo is a scammer)

Keep the suggestions coming ... I've got some ideas - how and where things of this nature could be discussed - on this (and thanks for the clarifications, etc. I think I see now where you are headed, IMHO).
We discussed this "Warnings consolidation", honest to Goodness, a few weeks ago in the Moderators Hideout area ... but we're going to very much need your input here in order to make it happen properly, in my view! I like the overall concept.
Thanks for any and all thoughts from the community.

I think we should have a separate forum alerting users of scams.

So for instance people can post "Watch out for..." and "So&So always bids for stuff on ebay, but never pays up"

but should not post "Joe Schmo is a conman. He ran off with all my np$" as that is a personal thing that should be sorted with the mods.

In the first example "So&So" is not a person on this board. He is someone on ebay which people now scam people. I remember a post on this forum talking about someone on ebay who was selling stuff. On one of them he was selling some girls forehead! Thats what I mean by that example!

Also, this forum can be about just interesting scam stories (to do with the internet and such)

PoorDoggie - The reason I used "Joe Schmo" was not to let a search engine Crawl a real name beside the word "Scammer" - lol - I would have used my own name before placing a Mods name there ... just a Thought

Thanks for the reply Jeff - This stuff is part of the Every day Problems we all must face unfortunately ... - But it is a good idea if we all watch each others backs ~ Just don't openly post anyone's Real Name(s) or User name(s) etc ... without contacting the Mods with some sort of proof first ~

It is easy to ruin someone's Reputation without any Proof at all on the Web. It can take months and months for a "Crawled" page of any kind to disappear from the Major Engines - Even if the Page does not exist any longer !!! - It's still in the Title/Header portion of the Search Results.

Thanks ~
