IntrustDomains.com

A newer drop catcher that is having a difficult time honoring refunds. Currently I am waiting on 3 days since requesting a refund and am waiting on 2 days response from them after repeated emails.

I recommend staying away from this company if you value your domains and money. There are major ethical questions involved in their practices, on top of their poor customer service and so far, lack of returning funds.

I am still waiting on this company to even respond to my requests. I have sent over almost a dozen emails. No excuse for such bad business practices.

Wondering whether I should backorder a domain in InTrust domain.
Since the domain's current registrar is Intrust, is there a possibility that they catch the domain?

Any advices on this?

Avoid intrust domains at all cost.

You should stay away from them because, they don't guarantee to give you the domain you backordered if they manage to catch it. Instead they think it is all right to catch your domain, then keep the domain for themselves and put it up for sale for a few thousand USD on their website.

There is a long thread about them here:
http://www.namepros.com/expired-doma...ustdomain.html

Basically they are collecting information from domainers about what domains are worth to catch and then use this information for themselves.

They think this is an acceptable practice. I copied this text from their website a while ago:

Quote:
...when InTrust Domains catches a domain, it is delivered in the following order:
1. If we have a Priority Offer on the domain, then the backorders are not delivered and the domain is sold to our priority offer. This problem will go away with the auctions starting July 15 or earlier.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/warnings-and-alerts/662265-intrustdomains-com.html
2. Domains are delivered first-come, first-served for backorders.
Any dropcatcher who does not guarantee to give you the domain you backordered after they manage to catch it should be avoided.

Pretty rubbish. Using other people's time to scan lists and backorder, and then they keep your domains. What a joke.

One domainer created a website explaining his experience:
http://intrustdomainssucks.com/

I think intrust domains are shooting themselves in the foot. With so much bad publicity they might as well change their name and start over.

I think they genuinely believed it was all right to compete with your own customers and they had a hard time understanding what is wrong with keeping those domains to themselves which is totally mind blowing.

Interesting thing is they have such a good platform, and they come into the marketplace being able to beat out snapnames/pool/namejet etc. Just need to get their act together.

I was expecting to read some reviews. I have to admit that sometimes they do a good job getting some great names!

I should have read this topic before dealing with intrustdomains.
I placed a backorder with them for a domain that would drop on 14th of Jan.
I paid $59.99 for the backorder 4 days before the drop date, backorder is first come first serve so I was the only one chasing it.
Domain dropped, whois shows intrustdomains details, my profile page on intrustdomains backend shows domain on my backorder list but I dont see it listed in my domains list.
I also looked on missed backorders tab but its doesnt show there either.

No email notification from intrustdomains about backorder, no refund, nothing.

It seems they used my taste to grab the domain and they are keeping it for themselves.
I already contacted their live support and I was told they are going to notify me by email in a few hours that their offices open.
