virus and useless virus scan

Hi..infected with pc spyware 2010. I got so peed off with it popping up its little head every minute or i went ahead and rashly purchased PC Tools Spyware Doctor which the listings on google told me would get rid of it and was one of the top antivirus programs. Turned out to be pretty useless for me as it didn't get rid of the virus but just seems to quarantine it as it pops up again on every logon.

Now a little gem called Antivirus Pro 2010 has installed its little self on my pc and is causing me more grief with more popups every few seconds or so. I tried to uninstall this but the uninstall option in programs just takes me to a page to register it at a cost, so a mega ripoff. I used to run Mcafee which was fine but i can't load it up now as i am on very slow dialup and the load runs over my 4 hour window i have on dialup. I intend to purchase their cd to be able to load up.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/warnings-and-alerts/612767-virus-and-useless-virus-scan.html

So, in the meantime, does anyone know a FREE virus scan that will get rid of PC Spyware 2010 and any other that may be lurking under the sheets ? Does anyone know how i can uninstall Antivus Pro 2010 which doesn't have an uninstall, or if it does it is well hidden?

Many thanks.
