got a call from 800 223 9113

a guy called me from that number, asked me about my domain name (an LLLL.com) and start verifying my address
then he asked for my fax number, when I told him, I don't have any fax, he hung up.
Then I googled for that number, and came up with this

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-223-9113

There's a thread on this at DNF too.

It's probably them trying to get your domain off of you.

Did they say they were from the dreaded "Domain Registry of America"? I get scam letters from them all the time.

LOL

This happens all the time. Play it out, give them a hard time. Or don't answer your phone to unknown name/numbers. If they know you, or you them, they'll leave a message

Give them a fake SSN#. Make it more characters than normal. Ask them questions.

Good luck

I have to clarify something...

My name is frank , and i am the owner of Domain Registry of America....

Of course some of you receive hundreds of letters from us, but i can assure you...it is in your best interest!!!

Not only you won't get private protection from us, heck we will charge you with a crazy amount of renewal fees every month!!

Tell me one reason TO NOT push your worthless piece of domaincrap to us, why have you registered that silly domain in the first place????

So, surrender...make peace with your world......AND push it to us!!!

Frank [insert last name here], founder of "Domain Registry of America"

I don't pick up the phones out of my phonebook. If it is in phonebook then it will have a name shown where the call is from. Other then that let it ring.

Because anyway I have never recieved a call in my life that says

"Keral I was wondering that I should pay you the money that I took from you"

It is always the other way around.

Every call I get is about someone asking something from somewhere. After picking up the phone we can't say no so its better not to pick up the phones and all people over here in my city knows that rule of mine.

Seems like all the calls I get are from someone with an Indian accent!

Yes I get all those accents.

Where people ask me "Which credit card am I using?"
So I ask "Why?"
She says "Their company is offering me a new credit card"
So I again ask "Why?"
She says "Don't I want a new platinum card that is usable in this many stores etc"
So I ask "Why would I want one?"
She says "It is very nice and there are no charges and this and that"
So I ask "Why it is so? Why there are no charges. Why is your company so happy with me?"

I keep on asking questions "where did you got my number from?", "Oh so what is your name?", "Hummm do you study? Or is this your part-time job?", "Yes which company did you said?", "What was your name again?"

This used to be in past But not free nowadays. I am overworked. So phonebook formula

LOL that is too funny and too real.

I had a phone call for the past three weeks after we got with Cox Cable. They would call three to five times a day while we are at work then up till 10pm at night. I said nicely to the lady the first time I do not want any services because I am home one day a week and this service is useless to me and you are making sure of that by your phone call.

She was like: Do you have kids
I am like: I am home one day a week that would not be nice to them if I had them
She was like: are you married they have great cooking channels on our packages
I am like: Listen here woman, my wife is not from the 20's I do the cooking and do not insult my wife that way.
She was like: Do you watch sports
I am like: Listen here woman, I am home one day a week. Now let me ask you a question
She was like: sure what can I do for you
I am like: What is your CC number, starting with Full name on the card, type of card, credit card number, and exp date. After I get that I will bill you for an hour of my services which is around 150/hour sounds good?
She was like: no I can't do that
I am like: better get off the phone now and do not call back, get me off your insulting list

LOL

A guy called at 10pm that night and I just laid right into him... he was like let me transfer you to another dept to get you off the list. He transfered me but it went to a recording our offices are closed please call back again LOL that little sh!t hahahah
