My girlfriend is being blackmailed via yahoo IM! and MySpace
Hi, about 4 hours ago my girlfriend called me saying there was an idiot that took over her Yahoo! Messenger ID and MySpace profile. She said the guy contacted her with the ID kriminal911 on her alternate ID threatning her to upload photoshoped pictures of her that show her in embarassing posinitions and change her details on myspace. He also threatened to swear at her friends on Yahoo!, and this would also be a big problem as most of them consider her ID legit. I tryied to add this guy on my own messenger list but he rejected my request. Now maybe the funniest (or scaryest) thing in this whole thing is that the son of a ... asks for naked pictures with her in exchange for her accounts back. I gave my girlfriend some photoshoped pics to send him but he immediately knew they were fake ( I`m not very good at editing a picture in photoshop REALLY that fast)...he said he would post upload the pictures tommorow and swear at her friends if he doesen`t get his pictures.
I don`t know if this guy is making fun of her or he is really mentally diseased but my girl friend really cares about her yahoo and myspace accounts and is scared of what this psycho might put there. If it was me I probably didn`t care, made some other id and forget this...but she doesen`t want to do this.
And also she doesen`t want to send the psycho naked pictures of herself either....it`s kinda funny, as she would be willing to even pay for her accounts but not give images of herself naked ad even if she would be willing to do that i wouldn`t let her because god knows on what pornsite they might end up on (he even specified he wanted 12 pictures).
I`d post the conversation between them but it contains very strong language and i really don`t have the time to remove all those words.

I told her to do so when she called me. I told her to send me a message if anything comes up...no message yet...also I read some threads on different forums about myspace problems and most of them said they didn`t had a fast response. If yahoo or myspace don`t respond fast it would be ugly because from the im.txt she sent me the guy really seemed capable of doing that
second - CALL yahoo and myspace dont mail them, that will take too long time!
third - call the friends, telling them what is going on, at least this way they know its not her that sends bad messages but the creep.
fourth - make a new profile or use other profile, where you message your friends who you cant call telling them of the issue.
fifth - save all the messages you get from the creep.
sixth - it is probable some bastard who knows her in one way or another, maybe a friend of a friend of a friend. So warn him telling him that you will contact a lawyer and police tomorrow if he has not got the hell out of her profiles by then. And tell him that Paris hilton won a case regarding her taped video when she sued the guy publishing the materials. Tell him "i hope you are rich, bich, cause if you distribute my personale files, I will sue you to the moon" Tell him that his ip is been logged by Myspace and Yahoo and that he soon will be talking to the police!
BUT DO NOT SEND ANY PICTURES TO THAT SOB! it wont stop there!

This is a new one. She has to write off the accounts. Time to call her real friends up and explain then create a new account. The damage is done those accounts are compromised. Calling yahoo imho won't get much done but you can try. Myspace won't do anything. This happens there frequently and she will just have to create a new account. You might get myspace to lock the account possibly.
You have to convince her to move on. Help her make a new account and start the process asap.
Open up msdos and run ipconfig and find out his ip address when your girlfriend is IM'ing him (Instant Messaging sets up a direct connection). Then do a DNS lookup on his IP address and find out who his ISP is. From their it should be incredibly easy to find his address and name. Then... involve the police. He can be charged with blackmail, fraud and molestation (due to forcing nude pictures).
What kind of photos is he theatening? If anything naughty, Let him do it, Contact all her friends telling them everything is fake then once the photos are posted. Report it to myspace straight away.

You can disable the yahoo account by continuously guessing the password on the yahoo login page for more than I think 8 times..Once you disable the account you can click on forgot the pass link and if by chance he has not changed the alternate mail you will be able to get the email account back...
Report to the FBI. A person from North Carolina was sentenced to 110 years in prison in Florida for doing exactly the same type of extortion and threats.
And also probably tell this guy that you would report to the FBI and also post the url to intimidate him? He might end up getting scared and returning the logins?
hmm yes that sounds right, but it wouldnt help in getting back the ID's...
And suppose this idiot does what he's threatening to do? Then reporting him wud get him caught, but the damage would already be done? I say report him and also warn him to further the process unless he returned everything back.
I dont know about myspace customer care but yahoo customer support is not good when it comes to talk about free mail & chat ids with them. there is one thing you can do is track down his ip address by transfering him any rubbish file or video/voice chat, only by tracking down ip address you can catch him and get all details related to his isp, location etc.
Try to establish a direct connection with him, by either sending file Or by video/voice chatting. Open up command prompt. Start>Run>type cmd. Then type in netstat -n. You'll have a list of active connections. You'll be looking for a "foreign" address. Its best to look at the list BEFORE establishing the direct connection and then refreshing it by typing netstat -n again, and looking for the address that wasn't there before.

Although i would consider getting an IP trace on him, If you were to confront him over the phone, I would bet he would stop.
I had a similar problem a few years back, The person pissed me off to the point, that i actually found out where they lived, I called em, told em i may just come knocking on their door, told them their own address over the phone, The BS stopped right there.
If You want to trace IP I can give you a little tool to check ip related all info with one click, this info includes country, isp name, isp owner name, ip range , isp address, isp email, abuse email, phone etc. so all you have to do is enter ip address and all info infront of you. later you can make a call to his isp or email them to report abuse.its a free tool

In my opinion talking to Friends and Informing them would be the right thing too, because Customer Cares hardly respond to you, unless you're a Paid member.
Lorenzo, I think proxy doesnt work when your chatting on messengers and transfering files or viewing cams I remember you connect directly when viewing cams or transfering files on yahoo messenger. I will send you tool later in evening
.... this is too simple. Listen bro, Put some stupid pics in the .zip or .rar file and keylog it. You send it to him via yahoo, he opens it and next time he logs yahoo or her myspace, you'll have the login info.
Ok I went to the police with my girlfriend today told them about what`s happening, they came over to her place collected all the screenshots and im.txt files on a cd, then told us they would look into it. Also i don`t know if hes a known person as I live in romania and the guy spoke with my girlfriend in english...it might be a trick but i don`t know...anyway after the police left i called yahoo and after about half an hours arguing with them we finaly came to an agreement: they would suspend the account until they would figure out what`s going on. Ten minutes later...disaster - my girlfriends myspace profile was made to look like she was some crazy satanist and put fake pictures of her in latex...damn...he hasn`t contacted her again yet so i can try the ip trick, but this is getting really annoing. She told some of her friends about the incident, but she has like 500 friends on myspace including relatives from austria and US which she didn`t manage to call yet. I hope this guy isn`t from romania because i would beat him to death!
