I left 1and1.com a year and a half ago now. Lets say i wont be going back their and my domains were moved to ukreg.com for free.

1and1.com are so far one of the worst companies i have delt with online and it seems their support staff are none existant.

So i echo your comments.

Last year while looking for server looked at 1and1 did some searches and found not reliable so i recommend people to do searches before getting servers .

Regards.

Good luck finding a good server provider. theplanet and steadfastnetworks are good ones so try one of them.

I noticed that there are a couple of NPers who have just posted a '1+1 are OK' company evaluation. Obviously they have yet to experience trying to cancel a domain or transferring a name out...no doubt so 100% fixated on the 'bargain' that they ignored the multitude of feedback comments on this devil incarnate registrar....slaughter of the innocents...

microbug is on a distinguished road

They locked my account too. I lost 5 domains with that account. Some of them are pending delete. Hope I can re-register them once dropped.

the 1+1 business model offers a cheap domain name registration and then recoups their money by making the owner renew that domain whether they want to or not. The best advice is if you currently have any domains with 1+1 which you will either want to drop or transfer, then do it with a minimum 3-month time gap to expiry.

I wonder if there would be any effect of a group effort in writing places like sedo, asking that they drop their ads as their business practices are not condusive to domain marketing and are a hindrance to placing names up for sale at sites like sedo.

dom35 will become famous soon enoughdom35 will become famous soon enough

I had many of my domains in 1and1, until now, no problems, except ..... I resitered some domains, accepted the charge to cc and ..... the domains are not registered "because we have a problem with the domain registration system" and suggest me try later, but, some of the domains that I asked arenow taken.

I called them and was 2 hours 10 minutes on the line waiting for an answer and then got disconnected.

Any suggeston of a registarr that accepts free transfers from 1and1 ?
