i found this intresting.... (code red, apache virus)


http://www.apacheweek.com/features/codered this happen a while ago a few years actually. But i have recently seen this on one of my linux boxes. I did a little investigating and i did find the "code red" virus on the system.

Just giving everyone a heads up

The thing is, its only made to attack microsoft systems? Did someone make one to attack linux???

you might find your linux system was actually being used to attack people in a similar mannor

ie: your system was rooted, worm uploaded, attack begins.

well its deleted and ive installed a better firewall. Thanks for the reply.

have you disabled direct root login on the system and forced ssh2?

also installing rkhunter and bfd with apf can prevent any future problems

i disabled direct root login and forced ssh2. I will install those programs now
