Windows XP Password Problem

Hello,

I need help with some password protected folder on Winodws XP Home

I had to reinstall Windows XP Home on my laptop, How ever it wrote over the old version. But has created all new users.

How ever i still have the old user folder under C:\Documents and Settings\

Only one user have a private folder called Martin how ever the admin can not access this and i need to files out of it. I have created a new user on the new XP with the same username and password but can still not access it. Has any one got any software or know any where i can open this folder, I know the password for the old user.

Can you please please help.

sounds like the folder has been encrypted which means you need the passcode to unlock it

creating a user with the same username and password will not match the user that previously existed on the system. windows creates a hash of some kind and its unique to that user (i think they use the date in side of it or something) so it will always be different

is the folder or username a greeny colour?
