Depends on who you are doing biz with, I'd say. If it is from a trusted/well-established forum member with plenty of pos. trader-feedbacks then I would not do escrow for the $500.
In other cases, I'd prefer a certified check, OR a Western Union Money Order. Only if the other party prefers it, I'd do escrow for an amount as small as $500.

Depends, as mentioned previously ... do you know and trust the other party, and how much is the total value of the transaction? Are you splitting the cost, or is it your responsibility? Any other information for us to assess ...

Think of how regretful you will feel if you really got ripped
Therefore, Escrow seems to be the better option, Good Luck!

Depends greatly on the amount of money that you are paying for the name. If it's an expensive name then you should use escrow.

Given the situation, I'd go escrow, but $500 is a good bit to me. You're getting to that level of money where people will scam at.

lol, so I was the only one that said "don't do it", er? I really don't see why Escrow is such a good option for $500 if a certified check, or otherwise a Western Union transaction, is also available (and usually much faster). I've done domain deals up to many $xxxx via those two suggested payment methods, and all went smooth, and fast! Unless the buyer does not want it/does not trust the seller, of course, then I understand why one may have to go via Escrow.

Either way, I hope the Escrow thing works out for you.

Best,
Rob

I would doubt you would be considering it but if the domain is selling for less then $500 don't do it. LOL

How much is the domain selling for? I would probabally try to find a cheeper place if possible. I mean it's not a too complex process is it? Is it really worth $500? But if it's the best price you can get and you're dealing with a domain that's selling for thousands then go ahead.
