I like both Wordpress and Movable Type. I think Wordpress would be a good choice for anyone starting a blog.

A sysadmin I know thinks GreyMatter is a bit bloated. I like it though. I haven't tried WorldPress but he recommended it. One he hated was Moveable Type because he said it leaves holes open for massive spam. But this is only what someone else told me. My personal experience is that I've used GreyMatter from time to time and even LiveJournal (using their hosting though). Both I liked. I hope to try WorldPress soon. So I'll be interested in those who have tried it what they have to say about it.
