Its official!
President Bush is PERSON of the year!

Quote:
For sharpening the debate until the choices bled, for reframing reality to match his design, for gambling his fortunes—and ours—on his faith in the power of leadership, George W. Bush is TIME's 2004 Person of the Year

Thumbs down

Ohhh this makes more sense ... disregard my previous post coz Bush was named "Person of the year" for the following reasons:
Quote:

Bush has saved millions. He has killed noone. If you have proof he murdered anyone then you need to call the cops and let them know.

Lets see, Bush freed Afghanistan and they just elected their leader. He is freeing Iraq and elections will be held next year. What has the rest of the World done?

Also seems the UN is going to send more people into Iraq to help with the elections. I love when a plan comes together.

Corruption, Mr. Kazai for however you spell his name was involved ina oil line deal that will benefit the US. Afghanistan is a little better off from the Taliban, the only good out of all of this. Iraq is a total mess and will continue.

Fluke of the Year I'd say.

No, I am a republican. You democrats only care about yourselves; starting threads like this demoralizing the president of the United States. You have no respect, and it shows why you didnt win the elections.

I'd think so. I am a open minded person however Bush has done a lot of wrong, meaning bad decisions that eh shouldn't have made. Causing the depletion of the great US army.

We didn't win the election because there are 3.5 million more republicans then democrats. Don't bother saying otherwise because you know it's obdiviously true. 90% of Republicans would pick a monkey (A real monkey not a human with the intelligence of one) that was a Republican over a Democrat.

Well, I just want to ask a few things. What political party do most racists follow? What political party do most anti-semitics follow? What political party do most homophobes follow? Care to answer DSL?

George Bush is truly an American dream. It's amazing how you can be illiterate (If I spell stuff wrong it's okay cause I'm not running for president) and be the worlds most powerful person.

President Bush may not be able to spell but he follows his decisions morally whereas John Kerry (a hypocrite to himself) follows every decision anyone wants. You say the republicans follow any president that isn't a democrat? Look at the democrats, flocking to John Kerry just because of his popularity on some television shows. The democrats are the ones that would ruin America. The democrats were also the ones that could be persuaded so easily that America eventually if run by democrats would ruin themselves.

The French don't like the U.S. or Bush because we uncovered they were in bed with Saddam with the Oil for Food program. They and the United Nations would have gladly left Iraq in the Stone Age and its people tortured or killed to fill their pockets.

To suggest prejudice is more prevalent in one party is simplistic and naive.

umm, isnt the time magazine award for the person who had the greatest effect on society in the past year? people involved in the important events that happened that year. bill clinton and kenneth starr were the time magazine people of the year in 1998 because of clinton's impeachment (http://www.time.com/time/personofth...overs/1998.html). like him or not, george w bush was easily one of the most influential and talked about people in the world over the past year and therefore deserves the award.

Right. Its not about good or evil, but being the "issue of the moment". Even Ayatollah Khoemeni got it in 1979, amidst so much controversy.
