Words of wisdom from the bush daughters: "when your dad throws the first pitch at the yankee game, go to it" lol

The Obama daughters, just like the Bush twins, but even more so, have never lived a "normal" childhood, and now the chance for that has been taken away completely. Is that a bad thing? Yes and no - They will have a unique perspective on life, family, who real friends are, and many of the other issues the Bush daughters mentioned like honor, loyalty, and patriotism. On the flip side of the coin, they will never truelly get to live as normal kids do, being sheltered from the outside world to the point it could be said to be a huge negative down the line (look at the Bush twins themselves, especially when they first turned of age - 18). A presidential candidate doesn't just change his life when he is elected, but changes the lifes of his whole household with or without their consent, with some of it being for the obviously better, while some of it being worse off. From having to learn what to say and what not to say, learning who you can and who you can not trust, often forgoing the normal childish behavior because you're present with your father around other officials or dignitaries, to just trying to figure out the point of it all, they are in for lessons few adults learn, and they have to learn them very fast and at a very young age. Most of what they learn, and have to cope with, is no differnt than alot of adults, but you have to remember these two are just kids wanting to be kids. Their father and mother knew all of this going in, and hopefully are prepared for it. By all outward appearances, president Obama has made it a real point to still try and keep the girls' lives as "normal" as possible. They will live a sheltered life surrounded by nannies, househould servants, Secret Service, and, sadly, alot of adults who may not have patience for kids just being kids. Even after he leaves office, atleast till they are adults, the Secret Service will be ever present. Let's just hope that those the Obama's keep around their daughters are people whom know how to protect the girl's privacy, keep them from feeling out of place in the big adult world they are thrown into, while at the same time recognizing that its perfectly OK to occassionaly "look the other way" when the girls do something like the Bush daughters recommended in sliding down Whitehouse bannisters just for the fun of it - folks that will provide the balance of not closing them off from the world, while still protecting them from the world and allowing them to just be little girls still. We all grow up too darn fast. Let's hope they don't have to, in the very adult-oriented world they were thrown into.

And, credit to the Bush daughters for that letter....Well said! Loved that last "piece of advice" they gave the Obama girls about always remembering who their dad really is
