oh man I'm glad someone made this thread! lol saw it this morning on ESPN and was like oooooooooo no way! it's a stupid move in my mind, he would be better in Green Bay. Only good thing is that now the Patritos can OWN him come regular season <3
Favre will likely need to load up on Oxycontins again after the shelacking he will receive from the Patriots twice.

The guy wants to continue playing football - for that you can't blame him. It's his job, a huge part of his life, and he loves doing it. He retired and changed his mind. The only thing is, he changed it after the Packers decided to go with their other quarterback.
By doing that at that time, he kind of screwed the Packers as far as their view in the fans' eyes will go. If they trade him, many people will be angry for it; but if they keep him, many other people will be angry. No matter what happens, the Packers will be the bad guys to many Favre fans. They decided to continue with their plan and start their previous backup qb. For that, you can't blame them.
They did do it in an intelligent way, though. They sent Favre to a team that doesn't matter to them. The Jets aren't a division rival or even in the same conference. Furthermore, if the Jets trade Favre, they get screwed.
Favre isn't happy with it, the Packers get very little, and the Jets get a leader that would rather be somewhere else.
I believe Farve still has a couple of premium seasons in him and I believe that the jets were the right choice. With guys like Alan Faneca, D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Nick Mangold, Brandon Moore and Damien Woody Playing Tackle, (where he excelled last year after being moved there) he is playing behind a strong solid line, if not one of the better O-lines in the league.
In Jerricho Cotchery and Lavernaues Coles he has two very solid and dependable recievers, and throw into the mix a talented young rookie TE by the name of Dustin Keller, and Farve has targets.
Also with Farve being there, teams will no longer be able to put 8 and 9 men in the box to gang up on the running game, since Farve can throw more than 5 yards unlike the weak armed Chad Pennington who couldn't stretch the defense with his poor excuse for a arm. The running game will improve on last year and teams will need to take the Jets seriously as a more rounded offensive team.
If Vernon Gholsten turns out to be the monster that his workouts indicate and they, as a group can generate enough pass rush to harass opposing quaterbacks with enough pressure to make life easier for their secondry, (which was punished last year) the Jets have the makings of a solid playoff contender.
I'll go as far to say that I believe that they are a shoe-in for second in their division and and are quite capable of taking a split in the two games against the Pats.
Doubt Farve if you will, and I know many will, but there will be a fire in him this year that will drive him above and beyond.
BTW...I know Farve wasn't innocent in the whole debacle with Green Bay, what with all his flip flopping over the last number of years, but I think the packers organization have come off as quite possibly the biggest A-Holes in American pro sports with their treatment of Farve.
I agree the packers should have let him in camp and have them fight for starting QB. If Farve is willing to let the continuos starts record go it might have been good to start the season with rodgers and when he gets hurt or sucks bring Farve in. It would have been like a hollywood movie
I wouldn't be so quick to make such predictions. I recall Patriots fans saying the same things about the NY GIANTS - before the NY GIANTS beat them in the Super bowl to become the World Champions.
Anyway, Favre should have stayed retired. No doubt about it. He's tarnished the legacy.
