Sales Tax Holiday 2008
Quote: For savvy shoppers across the U.S., the sales tax holiday is an annual event worth waiting for -- and this year is no exception. Each summer, more than a dozen states temporarily suspend sales tax on certain products, such as clothing, computers and school supplies. With rising fuel and food costs weighing heavily on consumers' budgets, some states are now taking the sales-tax holiday one step further by extending the holiday and broadening the scope of eligible products.

I didn't know this existed.
A tax holiday for all goods would be great. But the loss that the government would see would keep that from ever happening.

Cool, I didn't know that this happened. Sort of a bummer it doesn't happen in Michigan though.

We usually have one in Florida, but it looks like it got the axe this year.

They usually do this just before school starts.. alot of parents take advantage to buy when there are no taxes on their purchases. It's a win-win situation.. helps stimulate the economy, at least in the short term.
