Sims 2

Does anyone here play the Sims 2??
I find it a little disappointing, the hype is much better than the game itself.

I'm right there with you! Just got it as an eary birthday present. I got the dvd version, and am very disappointed. They really hyped it up for nothing. There's hundreds, if not, thousands of bugs that need to be worked out. I just have my fingers crossed for a patch or something. They're already planning expansion packs to be released next year. Personally, I think they need to worry about this game before they continue with any further plans.

One fan to another -

Jennifer

Maxis is usually pretty good with getting patches out there to fix problems with the game. I'd say if you're a fan of the sims then it's worth checking out.

I'm a fan of Sims as well. It sometimes runs slow on my PC, so I've started playing the PS2 version (Bustin' Out). Control is a bit difficult, as I'm used to a mouse, but so far its been very smooth, and promises to be a better overall experience once I get the hang of the controls.

What exactly is news about the sequel to Sims, anyway? Do they talk or something? Now that would be worthy of a second version!

The Sims 2 differs in that it's totally in 3D. The first sims series was only 2D... plus now there are actual goals for your sims to meet. They have life long dreams and aspirations, they basically tell you what they want now. Also, you're sims have a lifespan. Sims actually grow from infancy to kid, to teenager, to adult to elderly over a period of time. You have to meet your lifetime goals before they die. Not to mention Genetics... genetics pass down from generation to generation. It's interesting.

wow sounds nice, but if they got bugs hopefully it'll be fixed like you said; but definetly their the first to try something with growth to death, hopefully no one is TOO attached to their sims.

I haven't experienced pools of blood as of yet... but can anyone tell me how to have your Knowledge Sim be "saved from death"? It seems to always be one of their "wants" - but I can't for the life of me figure it out!

Thank you
Jennifer

Be saved from death is only a want for knoledge aspiration sims. You get saved from death the exact same way as in TS1. (Beg the Grim Reaper)

And it's ponds of death blood, for some reason 100 out of 100 other people havn't had the problem eigher (The game is picking on me) lol
