I hope that they fixed all of the bugs in the beta... if not, most of them.
It came with my current operating system and it was so buggy, that I ended up downgrading back to Firefox 2.

Was that Ubuntu 8.04 by any chance Snarky? I know Ubuntu included FF3 beta for some reason...
I'll download it - even though I don't particularly
like FF, just to help them get the world record

Yep! That would be it.
I still have no idea why they released a beta piece of software with an 'official release'. I tried Opera for a bit, because I heard it was a pain to downgrade... but it just didn't work with me, so I ended up downgrading anyway.
What distro are you working with?

Awesome. I'll wait a couple of months though for bugs to be worked out a bit. I love FF, it's always been good to me, I love the add ons and it's so much faster than explorer.

I never really used to care about what browser I used to use, but once I tried FireFox that all changed. FireFox in my opinion is x10 safer with Noscript running hehe ^_^

It has some great features IMHO. Yes there are (of course) some kinks in the beta, but I'm using the RC now and I love it. I think it's a step forward, maybe not hugely progressive or anything, but seems to be a decent piece of software.

It's finally available for download.
So far, so good here. It's going to take a little getting used to for some features, but we'll see how it goes.

I'm currently running Arch, though I experimented with FreeBSD for a short while. It was OK.

I do use Lynx occasionally, but my main browser is Opera 9.50 (specifically, the QT4 build because it looks a bit nicer than QT3).
