Marines Expelled, Disciplined For Puppy Throwing Video
HONOLULU (AP) - The Marine Corps on Wednesday said it was expelling one Marine and disciplining another for their roles in a video showing a Marine throwing a puppy off a cliff while on patrol in Iraq. The 17-second video posted on YouTube.com drew sharp condemnation from animal rights groups when it came to light in March.
I had been wondering about this as well Dave, the Marine Corps, do not train soldiers to be idiots, but a few bad apples get in. I am glad action was taken, I do not feel the action taken is enough, but at least he will discharged.
I know you threw in a little disclaimer. But let's change it to MOST soldiers would not do something like that, but MOST, if not ALL would do something like in the videos I linked to above.
The reason "it only takes ONE to create problems for everyone.." is because people feel the need to only focus on crap like that. Please stop being part of the problem with statements like " This is why "we're" loved the world over." People's animosity towards the U.S. is deeply rooted and their opinions of America do not change because a few sheep get flashbanged, just as their opinions would not change if they received aid from the soldiers in those videos.
what about the people that are killed in war? why is throwing a puppy over a cliff mercilessly worse than killing innocent men, women, and children in a war?
i think the incident is abhorrent...and if it did not surface on youtube nobody would have said two words about it....stuff the media would never cover.
what if a lot of war stuff was shown on you tube? do you think pple would blink twice at pple dying needlessly?
i think human life is more sacred and precious than a puppy's. we think of human casualties as 'collateral damage', yet view the killing of animals as 'cruelty'
that's pretty f$#ked up if you ask me
