I broke my laptop. The screen doesn't work, it is safe to say that it is dead. It is also out of warranty, and has been for a few years now. Damn
Luckily, this morning my dad said he would get me a new laptop as a reward once my exams were over, so I only have to use a desktop computer for a few weeks...
Sorry to hear that, that always suxx....i remember last year when mine died, one of my dogs wacked with his tail the coffee cup on the table and of course the coffee flew all over my laptop :-)
But you should have a second monitor port, if it is just the mainscreen what died you could use an external monitor....
My laptop is awkward, in that it doesn't detect a secondary monitor without me configuring it manually. It was also like this in Windows. Since the primary monitor is broken, there is no way for me to configure a second one.
Sometimes it is just the connector, inside your laptop.Depending on the make and modell the screws are located on different places...Since it is dead i would give it a try....go here for some tips:
Well, I've just dissected my laptop, and now I have the fun of trying to figure out how to put some wires back together (the only way seems to be when the laptop's top is on the base - but then there's no room for me to plug them in!), and to figure out where these three extra screws came from...
This sort of reminds me of the first computer I built... I don't think I used any screws in that, everything was held in place by blue-tak and sellotape.
I have a laptop by Fujitsu. It's really a nice piece of equipment and I've had it for 2 years. I just upgraded the ram last week and it has never gave me any problems. So if you are looking for a solid company, I would recommend them.
