Mysql is just a set of functions with php, of course i know that. And i dont use that actually, i use ADODB (a huge collection of database drivers, all in php) this way the db type can be changed in a mater of minutes .

For XML, its too easy, i want something that can do more than php. Im aware of Perls/JSP's capabilities. Just asking for opinions on whats better, more user friendly.

I've not had any interest in learning JSP so I can't comment on that one.

Perl -- Honestly there's not much reason to learn Perl if you've already mastered PHP. There's very few things that you can't do with PHP that Perl can offer. I was a Perl programmer for many years until I learned PHP in 2001 and since then there has only been a rare instance or two where I needed to go back to do something in perl.

A good companion to your PHP knowledge could be C. You can use the two languages together using PHP's exec() function to do some wicked cool things.

You can use c syntex with php? Thats pretty cool. I like the ming library, i do know as for ming. Its much much harder, but its actually very secure. Is there any tutorials on how to execute c with php?

Thanks,
Cody
