Thumbs down

$3.419 here, and going up!

San Francisco, I hear, has officially hit $4.00 / gallon ...

Meanwhile, the oil companies - and their Washington lobbyists - are making more money than is imaginable! That is not even disputable, IMHO.

Good Luck to us all.

Hi all,

The price for regular here is $4.50 a gallon. I live in a small town here in Cali. I go to the AZ side to get gas. The AZ border is about 5 minutes from me and the gas there is around $3.39 a gallon.

Take care,
- Bones

We are at $4.00 right now in Chicago.
Actually, most stations are hovering right at $3.99 a gal.
You can get gas for 3.65 ish in the suburbs.
Its sick, because they are saying we will be at $5.00 a gal.

I don't buy gas, only petrol. Gas is free, happens when I eat the wrong foods.

As for Petrol, I pay now about $1.50 per litre & it keeps going up which is bad

I think it works out about $12 a gallon here.

Although if you look at true inflation - i.e. money supply and the increases in it (not price of food). With places like the FED and BoE pumping more money into the economy and fuelling inflation. Gas/Oil prices are actually under valued. So, expect further increases perhaps 20-30% before we see any letup.

Price increases aren't down to the shortage in oil either as such (Oil is over priced based on supply/demand at the moment - under priced based on inflation), more its down to the fear of this and speculation. (okay in the longer term prices will keep going up, but the price of the barrel of oil will probably drop below $100 at some point, maybe below $80)

My opinion, expect short term big increases, medium term correction before continuing on the longer term upward trend.

Just my opinion, probably wrong, but who knows

In almost all of Europe it is way higher than the u.s. The main reason for this is because European governments want to greatly promote the public to use their cars less, and use things like metro and busses more.
