$270,000,000.00 - One Lucky Winner in GA
Imagine waking up on a Saturday morning and realizing that you have the only winning ticket to the $270,000,000.00 prize in the MegaMillions lottery.
See:
http://www.megamillions.com/winning...?date=2/22/2008
That's got to amount to at least a hundred million dollars in his/her pocket after taxes.
If I had won, I'd have a new pick up line to use: "Hi. I have a hundred million dollars in cash."

Is that a legit thing or is that a scam?

The link I provided is to the legitimate MegaMillions state lottery drawing results home page for February 22, 2008. I bought a couple of tickets but only won $2.

I'd be satisfied winning the $9000 money spin on my Moola search page.. even that would be life changing for me!
Meanwhile, I have 1 ticket for tonight's Powerball ($115 million)... I'd take the $55.3 million lump sum.

I couldn't begin to imagine how that would solve almost every single problem in my life. No job hunting, no more paychecks, no financial headache, just a very conservative investment with near zero risk and having fun just by what the interest generates.
Aside, if the guy that won took the lump sum, i'd have to fly to GA and smack him/her around the block a while.

Who Won?
The reports are that a nice lady bought the ticket for her family. Imagine having that pile of money in your family.

First thing I would've done is purchase every LLLL.com that exists.
I can see it now: "Buying every single LLLL.com in existence. Mid-$XXX,XXX,XXX.XX budget."

Imagine being the nice lady that probably ruined the lives of most of her family.. money tends to bring the worst out in friends and family.

Hehe I think the money spin on Moola is buggy. I used to play before 8 months or so and I have never won more than $1
I dont know how things are going there right now , but I think "set=values ; win less than 1$" has been set
Cheers

I had the $5 once since I've started using it as my home page.. my last cash out was $29 and I'm over $10 at this point again after a couple weeks..
Someone did hit for the $9000 already once if you read the Moola forum so theoretically it's possible.

There are taxes on lottery winnings? I believe in Canada, they're tax-free (I'm not sure though, I don't gamble
) .

The jackpot was ~$270,000,000.00 and the couple only got $164,000,000 after taxes. So, $106,000,000.00 went right to taxes. Insane..

The $164 million was the cash value of the prize. Her net winnings (after taxes) would be about $100 million.
