![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | His office says the man he had the affair with was trying to extort a hefty sum of money to keep quiet. I guess the gov did the right thing to come out himself. He resigned, effective three months from now. I wonder if he could change his mind in November once everyone is "over it". Here's a news link: "NJ governor resigns over homosexual affair" http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl...BNStory/Front/

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well it's not that he is gay, its that he had an affair while in office and he is MARRIED. Sheesh, in this day and age I was about to really question why someone would resign over being gay, but of course the news twists it around. Don't you think the same thing would have happened if it was another woman and not a man? I think so. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i don't see what having an affair, gay or not, has to do with being an effective or successful governor. there is really no relation whatsoever. if the voting public decides they don't want their civic leaders having affairs they can vote him out at the next election (although past examples certainly don't indicate any probability that that would happen). It's certainly no reason to be expected to resign.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think the fact it was a homosexual affair, rather than just an affair had a lot to do with why he was presured to resign. Many polititians have been caught being unfaithful and not felt it neccessary to resign. Heck, even Bill Clinton while president had numerous affairs and never lost much support or resigned, even when he was caught lying about it.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well, I do think he was a bad governor. In any case, he needed to resign because he gave his unqualified lover a post that paid him 100K a year.

I dont see why he should have resigned, but he wanted to protect his family, but in my eyes, he was doing a good job, no one knew, he could have kept it quiet if he wanted to, and no one would have noticed/cared. The governor is barely paid 100k a year, (something like 150k?) i dont think he has the ability to assign someone a 100k post, unless he assigns them to someone close to him, which i doubt he did. you have any proof he did? no offense intended, i just wish to back up my own gov >

He has been accussed of awarding his gay lover a high paid government. post. I don't know if it is true. But I do notice the dirty mudslinging/unsubstaniated nature of politics. This is a serious allegation to make and should be backed up. But you launch into a mini-diatribe that doesn't seem all that related to the extent of the post. "Get off your PC horse and grip reality. " The guy just posted about his skepticism - understanding how politics is full of unsubstaniated rumors and now his gay affair makes him a convenient target for enemies. You go as far as asking him to find reality. Doesn't match to me. Perhaps you need to consider posts instead of jumping at posts as opportunities to sound off pre-conceived peeves.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lol. Wow, Lee Ryder, you need to chill out. When someone says "hey george bush hired that woman from florida because she bought him the election" would you NOT say "hmm, that sounds like political mudslinging" and ask for substantiated proof prior to making a conclusion? Of course you would. If the governor did in fact rock out with some nepotism with his gay lover, than sure that's probably a factor that could justify his forced resignation. You can't just sling an accusation like that out there and provide absolutely no backup for it and expect that to be viable and conclusive evidence. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=43141 If someone said "i hear Lee Ryder eats children" and I said "that sounds like some political mudslinging rhetoric" would you tell me I was PC horserider with a tenuous grip on reality? Get ahold of yourself, man.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=43141 Just because it doesnt present gays in a positive light, its truth and therefore, calling someone a liar for it is inexcusable. especially since it was substantiated by the choir boy governer himself. (choir boy for liberal, not queerness.)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i take back any reasonableness in my previous post. you're a total idiot. If you're telling me that politics and political mudslinging by Rebuplican politicans (not neccesarily republicans themselves) does not include veiled and not so veiled messages of disdain towards 'alternative lifestyles', then... well, i don't know what to say.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Im an idiot for taking you to task for ignoring something that is in every version of the story I've seen and not allowing you to classify someone as "anti-gay regurgitantions" for merely quoting ALL news sources? get real loser. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmmm.. that news story is more then two years old. It is just now that it has come to the surface in an explosive way. I agree the title of this is unsubstantiated anti-homosexual regurgitation . By making it a issue of his being a homosexual the real issues get masked. I can give many reasons why I think he is a bad governor. However if you missed the real reason for this, and seem to say if someone is paid under a certain amount it justifies giving high paying jobs away I am not sure it is worth my typing. http://www.thnt.com/thnt/story/0,21282,602598,00.html ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=43141 does this help to start your search and put 2 and 2 togther?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey, dumbass, why don't you provide some proof of the accusation so that there is something to look at and either substantiate or not the claim. I absolutely did not say Parrot was lying. I am interested in seeing proof behind the accusation. Which is perfectly reasonable. If this is your idea of 'taking someone to task', you're just awful at it. You don't know the first thing about me or my politics. Saying I'm part of the Rainbow Coalition or whatever and saying I'm twisting facts is idiotic. Name ONE FACT either you or I have mentioned in this entire thread. There isn't one. The only FACTS are that he resigned and possibly whatever's in Parrot's link (thanks, Parrot, for the link).

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | omg... dude.. how can I make you read ANY news headline on this case? here, since you apparently dont know the urls to news websites I will happily provide some: ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=43141 www.cnn.com www.washingtonpost.com www.foxnews.com www.washingtontimes.com www.worldnetdaily.com is this enough? should I cut and paste the text for you as well? I still dont see how him simply repeating what the soon to be former governer himself has admitted to is Anti Gay regurgitation? why dont you explain that?? |
