this morning on msnbc i heard that there was going to be a new site that offers free music downloads and is 100% legit. They work with the record labels and make their money with advertising. The site is qtrax.com.
It's going to be made available at 12:00 midnight eastern time. I'm not sure if they are going to protect the files ( i don't think they would...) we'll see how it goes.
kinda looking forward to this, it might be interesting. I just hope it' won't be lame by them having you to force you to watch a commercial before you download.
Right now I've been using Ruckus, it's free if your a college student. All you need is a .edu email address. Its WMA format with DRM protection, nice quality though.
It sounds like a great concept, radio on demand basically. I just hope it's compatible with Win2K, unlike Netflix and Yahoo's Music service. It's interesting that they got the four big players to go for it.
The Beta is apparently crippled at this point anyway.. you can browse and listen but not download at this point (from what I've heard).. haven't bothered to install mine yet.
Well I installed it as soon as I can and quite frankly, it sucks. When trying to download music, you have to go on a site through the browser and search for titles, and then those titles come up page by page, rather than all the downloadable files coming up at once. Theres also only 10 or so per page, so it really gets to be a big hassle. Also, it slows down my computer a LOT, so it has caused me to get rid of the horrible program. I do not recommend it at all.
(in TURKEY) I can't find any music files and can't download. I heard that fewdays ago in local technology channel and download program.
I look about membership or something but nothing, maybe don't available in Turkey for now...
but I know surely that (learn the channel), we can't download music when the program is minimaze , so we have to watch advertising... it should be top of the page
