PayPal Email --- Take a look anyone?

Got this email, so I was just making sure its legit even though the address is https...was thinking this is a big time for scammers since the recent class action lawsuit:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/the-break-room/40938-paypal-email-take-a-look-anyone.html

Account System Cleanup

IMPORTANT
Dear PayPal Member,
Due to overwhelming reports of fraudulent transactions and account abuse, PayPal now requires all active members who have an account to verify that they rightfully own it.

You must click the link below and enter your email, password and reference code on the following page to verify your account.

This is NOT a SCAM or HOAX. Please check your address bar to make sure you are on the authentic PayPal website.

https://www.paypal.com/accountcleanup/

Your reference code is : PPA-XXXX-XXXX (removed numbers)

You will be guided through a series of steps which will require you to enter personal information, such as credit card number and/or bank details.

ALL accounts not re-verified within 5 days of receiving this email will be automatically frozen.

PayPal is doing this to protect it's valued members from fraud and scams. Paypal will not share your personal information with other companies and corporations. Privacy Policy

Thank you for your co-operation,
PayPal

Please do not reply to this e-mail. Mail sent to this address cannot be answered. Due to security reasons your name and personal information cannot be mentioned in this email.

To receive email notifications in plain text instead of HTML, update your preferences here.

The bold part came off a little fishy, but I just wanted to make sure everyone else got this email from PayPal?

I know this is probably a real email, just want to make sure.

Thanks,
Nate

It's a scam.
PayPal always knows your account first and last name and ever uses "Dear PayPal Member"

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr...curity-outside

email it (with all headers showing) to spoof@paypal.com

The link https://www.paypal.com/accountcleanup/ seems real because you copy paste the email body text, and the forum create the link itself. But try to look in your outlook (or similar) and you'll see the url is different...

Protect Yourself from Fraudulent Emails and Websites

At PayPal, protecting your account's security is our top priority. Recently, PayPal members have reported suspicious-looking emails and fake websites. These emails are not from PayPal and responding to them may put your account at risk. Please protect your PayPal account by paying close attention to the emails you receive and the websites you visit.

Please use the following tips to stay safe with PayPal:
Safe Log In: To log in to your PayPal account or access the PayPal website, open a new web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer or Netscape) and type in the following: https://www.paypal.com/

*Greeting: Emails from PayPal will address you by your first and last name or the business name associated with your PayPal account. Fraudulent emails often include the salutation "Dear PayPal User" or "Dear PayPal Member".

*Email Attachments: PayPal emails will never ask you to download an attachment or a software program. Attachments contained in fraudulent emails often contain viruses that may harm your computer or compromise your PayPal account.

*Request for Personal Information: If we require information from you, we will notify you in an email and request that you enter the information only after you have safely and securely logged in to your PayPal account.

Often, fraudulent emails will request details such as your full name, account password, credit card number, bank account, PIN number, Social Security Number, or mother's maiden name.
If you think that you have received a fraudulent email (or fake website), please forward the email (or URL address) to spoof@paypal.com and then delete the email from your mailbox. Never click any links or attachments in a suspicious email.
