Thumbs down Mid - USA Ice Storm : 100,000's out of power, 32 dead.

Hey NPers,

I live in Mid-Missouri and we got alot of the ice from the recent ice storm that gripped the midwestern states.

It was very strange to walk outside in the middle of the night, when the town is silent and all you hear is "Crack", "Bang", "Crash".. I almost felt like I was in a war zone.

I took a video yesterday detailing the aftermath of the storm in my small town. Narrated and filmed by me.. Yeah.. I make some korny comments.. LOL

Check it out here:

Were you effected? Have you ever been in such an ice storm before?

We got hit with ice here in Iowa a little over a week ago, but the latest storm was mostly snow with a little sleet and freezing rain. The ice wasn't half as bad as the first storm or what you guys got down in MO. We've received around 9 inches so far for the season. I really enjoy the snow, so the more then the better.

The ice is never much fun though.

Yeah I like the snow alot better too We just got about 4.5 inches and its pretty cool. The ice mostly melted first so not it's mostly snow, which doesn't do as much damage. My dog really likes it too.. She loves to hop around and follow the tracks that other animals and people have left.. lol
