any button will do, your customer will need to add money to his paypal account with his credit card.

It doesnt matter what buttons you have,
as long as you can accept payment from his card it will be ok.
I think.

If I'm understanding what your asking:
Your customer needs to set-up an account with Paypal first if
he wants to pay you with a creditcard via paypal.
Once his account is active he can send you payment funded
by his creditcard.

You can allow payments from people without a paypal account by selecting that option when creating the button in paypal.

Ok, I clicked the link and it takes me to the "paypal" page.
That is because the donate button is from paypal
in order for him to use that button and use his creditcard
he needs to have a paypal account.
For him to just use his creditcard without a paypal
account - you have to go a different route as I don't believe
it's possible that way.
EDIT: what cameron said is what I wasn't sure of, but remember seeing
that option when I set mine up.

This is the same button as any button.
If you clear your cache and log out of paypal yours should look the same.
If your not logged into paypal it will show info so you can insert your credit card information.

Login to paypal go to Products and Services tab
click on Website Payments Standard
if it's not in there, try Email Payments and see
if there is something in there that might help.

you have the option of accepting credit card payments no matter what the colour, shape, or size of the paypal button on your site.
a buyer can even pay you with their credit card even if you didn't have any buttons or any website!!
look at this screenshot...

HI,
think you have to go to your account, profile, website payment preference than under PayPal Account Optional choose Optional "OFF".
Thank should allow customer without payment account to use credit card.

I don't recall doing anything special to the button
when I set mine up - I created a donate button and
placed the code, do you have a link to the site
where it's placed?

That is the problem, it should be set to
ON
It asks if you want the PayPal account to optional which is exactly what you'd want in this case.

He was talking about
www.iulianh.info/donate.html which doesn't show that option. The other link he provided was an
example
