manually change...dns..? server? maybe?

i think its the dns server!

at my school they change really really reallly really really really slow >:O (MINIMUM 24 hours)

right now, theres is a site (unsure why i need to fix it?) it's been down recently for me.

i can access the IP, ssh it, etc.

a lot of other people can access it, but i just can't seem to access it by domain.

is there a way for me to fix this? also, i'm using a mac

ok, further information:

i can ping ip, and access by IP. (my friend can access by IP too)

I can access by proxy.

http://network-tools.com/ IP ping works, domain ping does not.

I cannot access the site by domain either.

anyone have any ideas?
