Holy..i set a car alarm off.
I just been around my mates estate of my scooter, going 40-45mph. I went past a Nissan Micra, and no joke, the alarm the went off.
I was racing my mates scooter, and his scooter is 16 years old and i kept losing on my 4 year old one.
So...dam.
Right, here is a lineup:
Aprilia Rally (50cc) - Me (4years old)
Suziki Style (50cc) - My mates (16 years old)
Aprilia, very heavy, good handling, newb driver (me lol). Awesome brakes.
Suziki, old, light, nimple, slightly more advanced driver. Not good brakes.
I lose 5-0...
I have a question though...How did my scooter set off the car alarm? Was it is noise?

True, but to be honest, 29mph is way too slow if you can go double that. Out of all the L-plates i have seen on bikes, they have all gone miles faster than 29..

Without knowing more, I'd guess that the vibrations from the noise of your scooter was able to set off the tempermental alarm. Just a guess though

I see a lot of students driving Micras as well.
50cc Scooters are limited to a certain amount of horsepower (I can't remember what that is) and basically you can easily remove this limiter making your scooter go as fast as a 125 model, simply because they are so light AND in most cases 2-stroke as opposed to 4-stroke 125s.
You might find that find that your model is 4-stroke and his was 2-stroke, or that his was not limited (Which is more than likely with a dirt bike)
I used to work in a Scooter shop. It was the most horrible experience of my working life. I have tried to erase all memories of it so I apologise if I have got some facts wrong!

Yes, it's the vibrations.
Someone whistling could set off a car alarm, depends how sensitive they set the alarm.

I have, in the past, set off car alarms by closing the front door. And I dont even close doors particularly loudly.

or probably the owner was annoyed and decided to set the alarm off when you pass by.
