I've never heard of anyone refer to anyone or anything as getting "Plutoed," although I guess it makes sense...

Actually by complete fluke someone said 'plutoed' to me today...i was speechless lol. I didn't know what he was on about until he explained it to me. Seems obvious really.

To be honest you are going to sound like a bit of a nerd if you use this in general conversation lol. (Not that i disagree with what jargonhunter said above ).

I wrote an article for our school's newspaper about Plutoed. I really don't think it should have been the word of the year if it's only a small committee voting, and most people (myself included) have never even heard of the word before the results of this contest were announced. Same with "climate canary" or whatever, which was the runner-up.

Well the word of the year helps you become exposed to new (although peculiar) words I guess.

In the military the two biggest demeaning words were "Clue" and "Clown" since it has gone all P.C.

This research group or whatever group came up with this term is probably the same idiots who have research saying more accidents happen in the home than anywhere else......

That's a funny title - Pluto's revenge. It's going to be fun using the word plutoed.
