MillionDollarHomepage - Part 2

I just received an email from Alex Tew saying that he has set up a second milliondollarhome PixelLotto.com. This time it costs $200 a square, not $100 a square. Since I previously bought pixels, I have access to buy them this week while most people don't. I bought 4 squares before and linked them to random domains and sold the domains for a profit but kept VURG.com.

Since I am not in a rush to spend money, I don't think I will purchase any this time. However, I thought that maybe somebody here may be interested. The best time to get the pixels is ASAP as now is the best range of choices and so I may be able to help somebody buy 4 of the first pixels. PM me if interested.

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/the-break-room/263596-alex-tews-milliondollarhomepage-2-pixelotto.html
It looks legit but because the launch date is Dec 5, there is nothing to see just yet.

Alex Tew's MillionDollarHomePage 2: Pixelotto

Anybody else get the email from Alex Tew just now?

I just reserved the very first spot on the top left of his new homepage.

The site is not up yet but the domain is www.pixelotto.com

Hi

I have some very exciting news I'd like to share with you.

Next week, on 5th December, I am launching a new venture called 'Pixelotto'.
It's similar to The Million Dollar Homepage only this time I will be giving
away $1,000,000!

It's all based around pixel advertising and generating big traffic for
advertisers. Visitors play for free - all they have to do is click on the
ads for chances to win the jackpot. The more they click, the more chances
they have - and the more traffic you receive.

As a valued customer of The Million Dollar Homepage, I'd like to give you an
exclusive opportunity to purchase advertising space on Pixelotto before the
site goes public. The world will be watching next week and this is your
chance to get on-board before everyone else.

The following link will give you exclusive access to Pixelotto, where you
can buy ad space right now:

If you have any questions don't hesitate to e-mail me and my team at

I look forward to welcoming you on-board for this new pixel adventure!

Yeah, I'm not a big typo fan personally.. I saw that he bought pixeLLotto.com in advance though.

I'm just happy with the top left spot. That's gonna bring some traffic...

awesome spot. Why is this in the break room? I think it's pretty relevant to the industry, might as well get NP$ for talking about it

So I guess this is what the pixel ad "industry" needed. I've been designing my own advertising revolution, so I think I may sell some names off cheap so I can buy at least one square in order to drive some targeted traffic that way. I've actually been waiting for him to release this before working on my own, because I knew whatever he would come out with would create way more hype than even the best idea could.

I have removed the private link to the site as it includes my email and I don't want to show that. 21 pixels on the page at the moment. I only received the email 2 hours ago. All the corners are taken except the bottom left. I just bought pixelotto.biz. I have no idea what sort of typos of pixelotto.com there are. I'm guessing pixelott? pixilotto? pixelottoboard? A namepros member bought the top left corner.

All the money raised is either reinvested into the webpage advertising/maintenance/prize or charity. It's interesting.

HomePage____________________________
Welcome to Pixelotto
What is Pixelotto?
Pixelotto is a 100% free-to-play lottery with a $1,000,000 jackpot.

Visitors simply have to click on pixel ads to be in with a chance of winning. With up to 10 clicks allowed each day, the more days a person plays and clicks on ads, the more entries they will accumulate prior to the draw. There's absolutely no entry fee.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=263596

The jackpot itself is funded from pixel ad revenue. On the Pixelotto Board, which will be displayed on the homepage and is where players will be clicking, there are 1,000,000 pixels of ad space available at a rate of $2 per pixel. The minimum purchase is a 10x10 square for $200.

The $1m jackpot therefore equals 50% of total advertising revenue, and an additional $100,000 will go to a charity chosen by the jackpot winner. The remaining revenue goes towards running and promoting Pixelotto. Please note that advertisers do not win anything - only individuals who register for free and click on ads are eligible to win.

The draw will take place one month after all the pixel ad space is sold out. One ad is chosen at random and the winner is then selected from all those who clicked on the correct ad in a seperate random draw. A millionaire is made!

So why should you be interested?

Pixelotto is Alex Tew's first new venture since The Million Dollar Homepage. The world will be watching, and with a million-dollar incentive for people to get clicking those pixels, advertising on Pixelotto it set to deliver global exposure and huge traffic for your website. You'll also receive real-time statistics about the number of clicks your ad is getting, and even demographic data about who is clicking.

Pixelotto goes public on Tuesday 5th December 2006. Right now, as a valued customer of The Million Dollar Homepage, you have a unique and exclusive opportunity to purchase ad space before everyone else. This means you can choose the best spots and be ready to receive traffic from day one.

Our shiny new pixel purchasing system is awaiting your order...

Don't miss out. Pixelotto is going to be big!

I thought it was maybe not so industry related.. Maybe a mod can move it?

Once I got it I went straight there and bought that top left spot. I knew for sure it was going to be gone pretty quick.

It's good. It won't get surrounded for a while so it will stand out more. I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't have gotten a bigger box on the top left. Oh well. Can't change that now. People already bought the spots surrounding mine.

Any hint as to what graphic you're going to use? dgridley used a smilie face when he was one of the first buyers and he got some good traffic.

I already know have a pretty good idea what I am going to use.

I'm going to promote the site in my sig. I am weighing three options for the spot. I've attached two to this post. The third I am not sure about.

I owned pixelsquat.com and started a blog where I designed different graphics people could use to "squat" the richer people's huge ads. The images would blend in with the larger ads, increasing their chances of getting clicked. I think it was a good idea, but I started the idea a little too late, and by the time I would design something, there would be half as much space left on mdhp. I have a feeling people are going to do this more on pixelotto, so if you're going to buy anything big, you should probably make it have a nice thick border.

I owned MillionDollarBillboard.com like a week before he even registered the MDHP domain.. Too bad he beat me to the punch. My idea was not the same though but still.. *ugh*

And yeah, I will be very interested to see how many people buy spots within the first 24 hours... let alone by December 5th...

Maybe wait and see what some of the surrounding ads look like? I think you should see what lime green on black looks like. That could stand out as well.

Otherwise Black on White is good, Red on Black, or Red on White.

Total waste of money.....

The first site was unique, novel and got worldwide press coverage... The second is just a lame copy and will not get a billionth of the traffic the first page did...

Ive no doubt a proportion of the page will sell (to past buyers) and then perhaps that will be the last we ever hear of young Alex... imho

Beware with this one guys.. Why not wait to see how things go before buying? It was already a worldwide phenomenon when we bought our square. I think i would use the same philosophy again this time

but this 1.000.000 dollar "giveaway" in my opinion gives some chance to this site
