Save a Life
Arrow Good vs Bad (Illegal Stuff from Internet) Part 1

Hello !

I have been with NamePros almost 2 months and seems i have been with it for all my life ! I made a lot of great friends here , we shared our ideas , we helped each other and many other things ! Im opening this thread because i want to know you better , i need to know what is good and what is bad for you ?
Illegal Stuff From Internet

So the first topic seems to be really a hot topic thats why i want your opinions ! Please give prove what you say with facts or different methods.

Many people in the world download movies , music , games , programs all for free! Is that illegal for you ? Why do you think so?

What I think ?

Personally i dont believe that by downloading music .mp3 or other stuff from the internet is an illegal thinh ! You will ask why ? Let me explain !

I live in Albania , in the capital city Tirana. We won our democracy in 1990. Late but better late than never ! I firstly used Internet when i was 13 years old (before 6 years). You know perfectly that Microsoft Products cost more than 100 $ but in the all Albanian stores you can find for only 1 $

You are suprised , how comes so cheap ? Because they are all copied ones! The owner simply goes once in USA , buys the original cd and he creates thousands of new clones ! So this is illegal for me , i dont accept but how a student who likes Photoshop can purchase Adobe Photoshop when it costs more than 100 $ ? He will never use it , even if he would have 100 $ because those money he is going to use for food or something else. Albania is a poor country so nobody can afford latest PS2 games or latest DVD Movies. Thats why i started downloading from the internet , not because I cannot afford buying Adobe Photoshop from the real owners but because im jealous . Im jealous because i seem fool purchasing a product when a friend can give it to you for free. Look on the internet ! There are tons of sites with warez and everyone is using those warez. Its not only Albania , its also Greece , Russia , Bulgaria , Macedonia , Croatia , Russia , Sweden , Serbia , Romania , China , Pakistan , Malaysia , Indonesia , Filipines , Poland , Ukraine , Finland , Brazil , Argentina , Mexico , Spain , Slovenia , Slovakia and many many other countries which , their citiziens use warez. So what do you think ? Will USA Government or any other police check every country and bust all people who use warez? I dont think so ! Its like Drugs , Cocaine , Guns , they are bad but they are part of our world and they will be in all the coming decades!

Also something else before finishing my long topic :

What do you think , who created the viruses , the trojans , the other harmful files which infect million of computers ? of Course MICROSOFT and other Companies so then , they created those Antiviruses from which they can have a big profit !

Thanks for your attention !

Sincerely

Olgi

I think economics and culture both factor into alot of warez trading.. I also think because of this, we'll eventually see copyright laws revampewd to compensate for this in some way. Software piracy, like the war against drugs, is unwinnable.. we need other distribution models.

Like the drug wars the only way to curb this is to attack the source...which no agency is willing to do. Most warez trading is done overseas which makes it all that much harder to do anything about. Like drugs, warez are just a part of the business and will never go away..as soon as a company creates a new protection method someone cracks it and usually in a short period of time.

Aside from development costs, why should XP/Vista cost $100 or more anyway? Corporate greed fuels piracy if you ask me..

It is truly a f'ed up situation, I also would like to see lower prices on software but the truth is piracy plays a small part in the cost as the compaines who create the software (fair or not) include the cost of piracy into their prices to counter balance if you will. Development, employees, utilities, copyrights, patents, state and federal costs....they also factor in especially with the big dogs like MS and Adobe.

Yeah i will not get Vista because in the home version, you can only have three windows open at a time. I am not getting a new PC just so I can run something that can only have three windows open.

If you read between the lines...it's a culture thing. In some cultures they are just used to getting these things for free and it's accepted and natural for them. Does he even have one hint of remorse from stealing stuff from US companies?...NOPE.

This is often the case. Unfortunately this mentality has been bleeding into many societies including America. People on the web are quickly learning they can rip, burn, and steal without getting caught. They justify it a dozen ways but it's still theft.

Business have to continue fighting for legislation and to renew their protections to combat this. It's a tough battle and the industry to fight piracy is in the billions now as well. Personally...I hate pirate and thiefs.
