Pre-Paid credit cards

Hey.

I saw somewhere that theres "Travel Credit Cards" that you can buy at places like 7/11 or something that come with the cc number n that and has a prepaid ammount of money on it so you dont have to link it to anywhere for it to get money from, anyone got any more info on these?

Got no info on it, but I have heard of cards where the parents put a certain amount on each month so their kids cant overspend. Also the same with phone credit.

I think I've seen something like this at 7/11, yes. Not sure how they work, though.

They might work like a debit card
You put money in the account
You get to spend that amount with the card

PayPal has a card like this

Works just like a regular credit card

Works like a CC, but it's not technically a credit card since you're not using "credit," you're using prepaid money that really isn't linked to your credit.

Yes insanity you get a cc# it can be used as long as the registrar accepts mastercard because that is what it is. It's just in a pre-paid form.

www.netspend.com If you decide to use one I suggest it. They allow direct deposits, transfer of funds between cards, etc. Great for expense accounts.

Yeah but the ones at the 7/11 - how do you do address verification for online stores that only ship to your home?

Visa offers these. Visa Gift Cards, available from many banks. You can even order them online.
