My first CD letter...

I received a letter about a domain that is trademarked.
They want me to sign a statement that :
a) I do not use that trademarked word again
b) if I would still do so I would have to pay 5100€ as penalty
c)to declare against the DENIC that I do not want the name anymore.

What is best?
I do not want the name, and I do neither care that I paid registration fee yet again for another year.
I only used the site either as copy of the main homepage of the boarding house I run or to try my skills with the WYSIWYG.

I never got any money from that site.

What now?

some more info is needed for an effective solution.
In the mean time don't use it.

Well, tell them to give you the money back as you no way intended to make a site based on their TM, or did you even think a simple name with your private site about your hobbys would course such grief.

You are happy to take it down as long as i am paid for the domain, of the sum $0.00 blah blah

Just CD, if they want them want you to hand the domain over then ask like $500 as a service charge.

They want me to pay the solicitors fees and possibly "fee my for using a trademarked word"

I say if it's a clearly trademarked word give it over it's not worth the hassle but check it out first because a lot of time just because somebody says something doesn't make it so, If that's the case try to get whatever you can out of them.

Just spoke to the solicitors, they want to charge me 375 € as their fee, but no further compensation for any of their losses...I ask myself which losses???
Monday at 12:00 I am supposed to have signed the letter.
With a weekend in between...brilliant...

Can you contact the complaintant directly? Is that stipulated in the CD?
F- the solicitors fee, tell them to sit on it

I'd just turn the domain over to them on the condition that you won't have to pay any additional fees or penalties.
