Yahoo "Web Beacons" Opt-Out

Hello Mods and Mems,

I run this thread about every 6 months or so to make sure everyone knows whats up.
If you already know about this and have taken the necessary precautions, great.... good for you.

If not......

Please click the link below and read the following information carefully.

http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us...ns/details.html

The opt out link is near the bottom, dont be tricked into pushing it twice and un opt out....
Quote:
When conducting research Yahoo!'s practice is to require our partners to disclose the presence of these web beacons on their pages in their privacy policies and state what choices are available to users regarding the collection and use of this information. You may choose to opt-out of Yahoo! using this information for this research. Please click here to opt-out.

Quote:
Note: This opt-out applies to a specific browser rather than a specific user. Therefore you will have to opt-out separately from each computer or browser that you use.

Web Beacons make the AOL tracking cookies look like childs play.
For me, it's not about anything else but a breech of privacy and if we
didn't agree to allow this action by clicking yes to the Yahoo TOS,
it would most likely be illegal.

Peace,
Cyberian

Sorry for the confusion, just the opposite, if you have ever signed up for ANY Yahoo service... email, groups, My Yahoo.... etc, you are automatically opted in to "Web Beacons". You must "opt out" to stop them from tracking.
