![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | New problem with Win98SE - Please, help :) Hi All, Some of you might have read my previous posts in the near past related to this matter but now I need help to solve the problem once for all. I'm now using my new Pc with double harddrive so I'm corrently connecting to the net by Win2000 (I hate it). Well, I installed Win98SE on C: and it works fine except the Internet connection which gives me a "Network error" every time I attempt to digit an address in the explorer bar, nothing to do ... I installed Opera too, same result ... O Express doesn't work as well so I suppose it's a global problem ![]() ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/the-break-room/16342-new-problem-with-win98se-please-help.html I'm ready to consider any possible solution, you can find anything regarding my Pc here: www.hobbytoday.com/Report.htm It's a detailed report all in English except few words in Italian but I'm ready to translate them if you think to be able to help. Don't hesitate to submit me any further question if this might help you to better understand the situation. Thanks since now for your time.

![]() ![]() | I dont know but maybe go to a friends house and download a good copy of IE. Come home unistall current and reinstall new. If you just got the computer obviously, I wouldnt do the above. How long have you had it? Did you it buy brand new from a store or friend? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes identity_00, I bought it new from a computer shop about one week ago, problem successfully solved now. Thanks anyone for your useful suggestions, now my Internet connection works perfectly from Win98 too, I'm really satisfied and happy of this situation ! It was a tcp/ip problem, a setting to correct, all here ![]() ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=16342 Now I'd like to fix a second very small problem but only if possible ... not really important. I updated my Win98SE with some security files and other utilities download from MSN few weeks ago and currently on a cd but probably one of them was for English users (no idea what file exactly) so now I've a mix of Italian and English options on my menu when I click with the right mouse button and some default icons have English names too ... No idea what I should download in my language to have them again in Italian ? Thanks. Honestly, I'm thinking to install the full English version in the near future to improve my English knowledge considering my plans to go leaving abroad within few years but, for now, instead of a mixture, I'd prefer having it only in Italian.
