Wink FireFox Installation on School Comps

Hey,

I downloaded the FF 1.5 install file onto the student file server in my folder at school.

Now my question, how can I use this - and only me, preferably - amazing browser at school without the facutly knowing?

And let me say this, the school computers here are VERY insecure... getting into the DOS prompt and registry is easy, so a little install not too bad?

Also, I would prefer to use Firefox instead of the Netscape 4.1 they have -_- (about 6 years old)

Thanks,
-Matt

If you do it without the faculty knowing you are risking suspension.
Why would you even consider doing something so foolish just to view the internet with a different browser?

If you think this browser is so great then do something productive and convince the faculty to use it system wide.

Just because a system is insecure it doesn't give you the right to manipulate it.

Yeah it seems most school computers have an ancient version of Netscape...

I'd like to install Firefox on some of them but I've never tried

So you're asking how to install unapproved and potentially insecure software on a school computer, right?

If the school network gets comprimised because of a security hole in Firefox, who do you think will be getting suspended?

Your asking for advice on how to do something that is illegal I suggest you edit your post and act like you never created this thread.

Heh, okay.

Somebody care to enlighten me on how to... A) Contact system network admins, and B) Use Firefox portable?

I would LOVE to use this most very effective and secure and fast and easy to use web browser at school

I doubt very much anyone here will know how to contact the system admins at your school.
Go throught the proper channels. Ask a teacher.

K fine, so why do you always look at the negative things?

Sorry but recently I've noticed you do a lot of bashing, if you did NOT notice I asked another, more DOMINANT question, what is Firefox portable and where do I get it? You need to look at the more positive things, don't point out the negative so much It doesn't do much good and just makes people feel bad

Our computers have IE6 as standard but they have a folder with IE6, Netscape, and even FIREFOX! I know, it is awesome. Although, I don't think anyone except us nerds know this.
