File Recovery Software

Hey guys & gals,

My Harddrive messed up today and I had to reformat & reinstall windows to get things working again so I need some help recovering the main C Partition.

Does anyone have some suggestions on Free OR Paid software thats excellent at recovering complete files?

slantednet is on a distinguished road

If you formatted and restored on the main partition that you're trying to recover from, most likely the data is gone.

The data that is possibly recoverable wouldn't be recoverable cheaply...

We use Rstudio at work to recover files off of formatted drives... a lot of times it does not work, but sometimes it does. Don't know a website to get Rstudio at though

Well I've got hope since:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/the-break-room/128980-file-recovery-software.html
A) Partition was a "jiggy-rigged" format, only the MBR was rewritten and a portion overwritten.
B) Size of date I am looking to recover is quite small under 10GB.

Any others suggestions people? RStudio is pretty good but it's only "recovering" portions of the first 2.8GB of the disc and the total partition size is 14.6GB.
