Caution Update your whois records when you buy a name.

For the 3rd time this week, I've been contacted about a domain I had sold previously. Three different people, three different domains. Nobody updated the contact information after receiving the domain. This can lead to potential problems for both parties. I thought it was worth a reminder. You can't count on automated systems to always work. You should double check the contact, and ownership information.

When you buy, trade, win or take possession of a domain, update your contact/whois.

Please!

Thank you.

Ya, that can get pretty annoying. Thats why I like systems like GoDaddy where you have to change the WHOIS info.
