Sad Member of my forum died - looking for suggestions

Hey people,

A member of my forum died just a day ago in a car crash. Because the forum is for the local community, alot of people know her personally or just online. I had known her for about 3 years online and although we hadnt met up, it had been planned as a gathering for members of the forum etc.

I was unsure at first what to do. I eventually sent out an email to all members linking to a thread where they can say a word or two. I was worried that this email might have been seen as an excuse to bump up the traffic on the site though.

People are looking for ideas on what to do. Somebody suggested everybody chipping in for a wreath, but I think it would definately be seen as advertising having a wreath with the website address on.

So what are your ideas?

I like the idea of a wreath, but yes could look like advertising. Why not have something like with love from your friends at BlahBlah. Not adding the address itself?

Hard situation, good luck with it.

Like Matt said, you could just write "From Internet Friends" or something like that. And you could do a webpage for memorial with some photos/text, and without ads of course.

We have more or less decided on an area dedicated to her where other members are able to post a small message. And yes, without Google Adsense.
