![]() | your thoughts on 4 letter domain names? Ive seen some 4 letter domain names go for decent amounts. Alhough 3 letters are the best, 4 letters still seem to do decent. What is your feeling on 4 letter .coms or .net and have you had any success with selling them yourself? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it is better not to separate form from content ie the form of 3/4 letters is irrelevant if the letters spell gibberish eg qojk.com is gibberish. Similarly bollocks.net is better than sollocks.com, but totalbollocks.com is to be weighed against bollocks.net. One word .net against 2 word .com: this is the angst most deal with. |

![]() | I like to pick up ones that end in i (Incorporated), e (Enterprises), c (Corporation / Company), a (Association) etc. Based upon the number that are being snapped up in the daily drops, they appear to be gaining popularity. avp |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If they don't mean anything obvious, at this point, they are still worthless ~ under $10. However, it does seem that the 4-letter .com names will all register sooner or later, so they might become an investment item. I believe there are still quite a few available, even names that begin with W and K, which could be TV/Radio Station call letters... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't see a future market in them at all. You can remember 3 random letters but not four... see what Im saying? If there was a future in them, most would be gone.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think all possible combinations of 4 letter domains will ever be registered. There is just too much junk out there! There are only 17,576 possible combinations of three letter domains. However, there are 456,976 possible combinations of 4 letter domains and that is huge amount more! So, I don't see them as a valuable collector's item for the long run. However, if you find a 4 letter acronym or something that sounds cool, then pick it up!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've seen a lot that not only have intrinsic meaning or could be an abbrev, but also typos of 3 letter domains that would be more popular. cnn(n) dot com, etc. -Allan

![]() ![]() ![]() | 4 letter names that mean something are worth something, ie pets.com Anything thats easily pronounceable is a good bet ie Sedo. But there arent many , if any, decent ones left. Anything ending in co would be nice as well, but theyre all gone. There are various combinations that seem to be popular and probably are/will be worth something. Other than that theyre probably worthless. Some of the ones composed of crap characters are useful in some languages, although I wouldnt put any money into those. There are plenty of massive multinational PLCs that have spent large fortunes on rebranding with a four letter acronym. I see a big potential for these. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/short-domain-discussion/75037-your-thoughts-4-letter-domain-names.html I also believe 4 letter domains is the next best deal, considering 3 letter .coms aren't available anymore...
