![]() | Does my site count here? I am developing this into a site on top of my offline mixed martial arts company. Promoting cagefighting and stuff if you don't know about this stuff? Anyway, it's also the name of my offline company, MMA.BS. It's a short domain, right? I've been working on a bunch of angles with it as far as marketing, just getting the site finalized and original content added. You can find the link in my sig or it's MMA.BS, like I said. It's really easy and convenient so I didn't want to look like I was spamming it saying it! |

![]() | It's a short domain but using a .BS in your niche is a bad idea - IMO. Let's face it.. the bulk of users visiting your site will only be familiar with .COM. If it was a tech-oriented site then .BS might work, as in that case users will instantly recognize different domain extensions. Your average joe just does not pay attention to domain extensions in my experience. They think everything is a .COM. Why not register the full name of the company as a .COM? Though not as short, it would still be easy to remember and is more appropriate for your uses. It'd have the dual purpose of building an online presence for your company as well. Just my two cents.. |

![]() | I don't know, I kinda feel that there is a lot of techy kids in my sport, and more every day. I think for a lot of internet-savvy kids, looking for a quick and easy place to get current on mixed martial arts, typing MMA.BS into their browser is just the easiest option. And bs'ing around isn't exactly something that's unheard of, 'bullshit' doesn't have to be taken literally and tied to the site's worth, especially when presented with a professional site. BS can be taken to mean what it means in every day life, and it's rather broad in a narrow niche. Making it an easy experience to interact is on us after that... I'm looking at integrating BuddyPress in cleanly over the next few days, but we'll see. Mingle seems to be working pretty well. ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/short-domain-discussion/640007-does-my-site-count-here.html And hey, if ninjashoes.net can draw a significant amount of traffic, we can. |

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=640007 I don't like the fees for mma.bs but it's VERY easy to remember... Icanhazcheeseburger or whatever is a big site based solely on the term lolcatz ... I don't like any part of any of that and it works?! | ||||
