Criteria for good 5L.com !!

Well as i said in another topic i have problem select the names they're good for the 5L trend

We all know about the premium chars and the spelling / pleasant to ear features and dictionary entries (which are almost gone in English vocabulary) but what really makes a 5L good for you ?

To me all current 5L looks like Arabic names (not that Arabic names are bad just my opinion of about the sound of the names)

Hello dotnom,

I believe in name quality and how letters fit together, far more than letter quality

Hope that helps in some way

I look for the following when assessing these names:

1. Does the domain pass the radio test?
2. Is the name pleasant to say/evocative/kool?
3. Does it end in O? Just a personal preference lol.
4. Can I envisage the name being a brand?

I like to focus on quality with these names. Whilst keeping the reg. fees down, it also increases the chances of hitting an end user with deep pockets.

Matt.

have to agree with everything said above.

dont worry about premium letters if you can pronounce it easy and it passes the spell test/feels-looks right. then go for it.

considering the prices good pronounceable 4L.com are going for I consider good 5L.com's to be a strong buy at the moment.

here's a couple I've bought this month.

Personally I agree with WORDSWORTH #4 point, that the domain must have a brandibility factor for any chance of either off loading the domain or promoting the domain.

However running a close second are 5L domains that are present in the urban dictionary. If they are present their is at least one other person who saw meaning in your name and the majority of names in the urban dictionary are easily pronounced.

Examples:

Plimp.com : Cross Between a Player and a Pimp

Alluh.com - I sold (for a ridiculous low amount )... Common misspelling

Ralte.com : Is a clan in India, however i feel like it sounds like 5 star hotel.

Japzy.com : Japanese slang

Tediz.com : Teddy Bear Shop

Oilry.com : Oil Refinery / Oil Rig ?

Jaxay.com : Japanese space agency slang

Fligy.com : A Video site / Flick?

Slufe.com : A spy site?

Spimy.com : Another spy site?

Jodiz.com : Jodies site

Shocy.com : Shock Video Site

Lustz.com : Adult site

Vempy.com : Vampire site? / Gothic
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=485437

Gluns.com : hmmm?

Twale.com : A cross between a tree and a whale... apparently?

HI

I look for a 4 letter word in a 5 letter com and the extra letter must go well with the 4 letter word...

Also a 5 LLLLL typo of a 5 Letter word may be worth testing for traffic.

Thx
Tom

I think the best LLLLL.com pattern is CVCOO.com

They are extremely popular, and very limited supply. Many of them are fully developed sites with high Alexa rankings. The premium ones don't come up for sale very often, but when they do they sell well.

Some stats -
- 11.8M LLLLL.com

- 2,205 Total CVCOO.com
- 676 Total CVCOO.com (all premium letters)

The public really loves those types of domains for brandability and trademarks. I've only got one of these domain types myself, Keogo.com. I chose it because it looked like keyword, logo and go mashed together. However, if your not fond of these "made up" words, you could collect more traditional domains with keywords in them, some of mine are;
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=485437

WhyMd.com
EZFry.com
JagDr.com
MrRom.com
RodSt.com
PupDr.com

You could also collect palindrones and patterns like IIOAA.com.

IMO whatever you choose, it should be something you feel comfortable with and believe in, this will make your job of selling a whole lot easier. You'll also be happier when it comes to paying for your portfolio because in it you'll have lots of great names to develop while your waiting for your names to increase in value or for the right buyer to come along.

I've given you some rep for that suggestion. If there are a lot of definitions and/or votes it may suggest that the term is in common use. I wouldn't register every name though as it could be severely detrimental to my bankroll lol.

I finally managed to pick up an all premium combo:

Fimoo.com

I have another CVCOO.com that's easy to pronounce for sale at eBay and the opening bid is just $0.99 and with no reserve. Check the bottom link in my siggy to view. Good luck!
