Question LLLL.com Value Decreasing?

Ok so everyone is always talking about how LLLL.com values are constantly increasing but does anyone think the value of them could ever decrease? Please list some reasons why you think LLLL.com's will continue to increase in value or why LLLL.com will eventually decrease in value.

Well, when the economy sucks all areas will be effected. I have noticed a pullback across the board from the low end to higher end. Still I don't think you will see prices really tank much, just stabilize.

Hi
The increase and decrease of value may depend on many things..
1)Brandable domain names
2)acronym
3)Internet penetration---more people and companies start using net.. more they will need these kinds of meaningful domains
4)HYPE

Decrease??????
Economy....

The worst letters with all letters with either ie xqyz have dropped to peanut prices

After the llll.com buyout these were selling very strong $45 to $70 I think Reece sold 1 at $100 these prices were due to the hype and panic buying

The problem is now everyone has llll.com and everyone is flipping and not developing thus flooding the market.

Only quality llll.com will increase lower end will take sometime

I think that while we have good population growth on the domain sector of the internet, the LLLL.com will keep growing. I hold to the view that the investor pattern with LLLL.com is a wave pattern which involves good growth when a wave of new investors come into the picture followed by slow growth and often a decline when the wave subsides. I think that we are waiting for the next wave of investors at the moment and I think that this will happen some time in the next 12 months.

With CCC.com, the $30 value for these domains was consistent for quite a while but there was a period that those $30 domains all of a sudden became very easy to sell in the high $XX range and 100% were backordered at Snap. I expect that the next wave of investment will be very exciting and possibly the most exciting wave of investment for LLLL.com as when there is 100% backordered LLLL.com, these domains will finally be considered investment alternatives for some of the big buyers who reject them because this hurdle has not been reached.

However, I expect a quiet period following this as well when reality sets in that 200%/year is not realistic for the new investors.

I definetly agree with you. I guess you can say that domains are like anything else, they rise and fall in value.

I've only seen a few sales that went below market price but I don't think it's enough to justify that it is decreasing in value.

I've some 2 premium letters going around $40+ recently and triple going between $50 - $85 but there are some days that they go for a little higher.

Even with LLL.coms you are not guaranteed with successful flipping. It seems that all domain niches were affected by economy problems. But prices will revive, I'm sure. It may happen not very soon and I'm interested in current situation because recently I could buy a lot of very good names for very cheap. And this situation will help me to buy more gems for 30-45$!

thats a great way to look at the situation... I'm really taking advantage of the lower prices and have picked up a few triple premium .com's for pretty low prices... I hope to hold on to them for a couple years and make a nice ROI.

The only ones that will DECREASE are the ones who have no meaning and are just random letters; however the LLLL.coms that have good acronyms and can stand for things or repeating letters etc will only increase.

You can have LLLL.com that today doesn't have any meaning, but tomorrow organization, company, club, fund, federation, etc. will be created that will have acronym that is exactly your LLLL.com. I already have good experience with situation that I described. In November I purchases triple-premium LLLL.com here at Namepros for 25$. At that time it didn't mean anything special (at least to other members, because I saw this domain value and it's potential). About 2 months later a website was created on it's .net counterpart and it's Alexa rank is already 80.000 and it's still increasing more and more. I'm just happy because with it I get 3-5 euro on parking monthly and it seems it will just grow with time. Sooner or later LLLL.net project owner may make me decent offer

Internet is developing. Internet is so young that in future 5-10 years thousands of new companies and organizations will emerge that will need our LLLL.coms even if today they mean nothing!

Of course crap LLLL.com have to wait for Chinese companies and persons buying them. Do you think it's so impossible taking into consideration that China's businesses are aimed to USA, Europe, Russia? I think it's quite possible. I do have a lot of LLLL.coms and about 30% of them may be considered as crap and so far I got only one low $xxx offer from Chinese (or Korean) company (unfortunately my counteroffer was not accepted). But things may change...

Most people polled in the thread below ballparked the worst LLLL.coms to be between $100 and $250 by next year. Anyone changing their mind?

Where have you been the last 3 months? these names have been steadily falling from a peak of around $60 for the worst combo's to around $25 today. The market was overhyped and in my view probably still is, I expect these will be down to $15 soon.

It'll hit 100+ in 2009 imho. Might just take a few months longer than many of us expected. Come November 2009 renewal time, I'd really be surprised if all LLLL.coms weren't backordered.

What is the chance of speculators falling into the same trap twice?

There are only 456,000 LLLL.com, and LLL.com are out of most people's price range. Long term the trend is still up, short term the trend is down. The internet is still growing (Only 21% Internet Usage Worldwide now). More and more of these make their way to end users on a daily basis. When the number of drops falls lower and lower, the market will head up. Simple Supply & Demand.

Only 456,000? With the vast majority owned by dominers that is no shortage.

The long term trend versus the short term trend?, would that be 6 months versus 3 months?
