if you find one that you like still available for registration, a good rule of thumb may be to estimate the value of the corresponding LLLL.com (check TDVR.com for comparable prices of actual sales). If the LLLL.com is safely over $100, then registering the LLLL.net seems like a good bet to me.

also if you find an acronym that fits the .net extension particularly well (ie, something techie or social-network oriented) - then maybe can be a bit looser in applying the "LLLL.com over $100" rule.

your best bet for easy, higher quality acquisitions over the next year at least may be to keep an eye out for bargains in the aftermarket. Since the "quad premium" buyout completed just a few months ago, it's easy enough to find resellers letting go of some gems in auctions or bulk sales for not too much above reg fee.

other people may offer opinions on their favorite "patterns" such as CVCV or triple-repeating AAAB types, etc ... But these are already fetching prices much higher than reg fee in the aftermarket.

You can still find (I don't know why) 4premium LLLL's at just over reg fee (8-$12). I would search and buy them myself as this limited supply will dry up quickly.

good luck, gary.

I wouldn't touch LLLL.net that the .com sells for <$400 personally.

Fully agree.

You can get quad premium LLLL.nets for just a tad over regfee on the reseller market, so it's absolutely silly to consider registering much of what's left until that situation changes -- this could explain why new LLLL.net registrations seem to be slowing.
