Official NNNNN.com Evauation Thread

All NNNNN.com's have been registered a couple hours ago and now is the time to start discussing their value.

First some general guidelines:

1. According to http://www.3character.com/priceguide.html:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/short-domain-discussion/433115-official-nnnnn-com-evauation-thread.html
1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 are considered premium numbers. Other lesser high quality numbers include: 4 and 6. Lower quality numbers include the number 0. Premium NNNNN's were registered first, then more than 10k 5N.com were remaining

2. Domains starting with 0 are considered lower quality, while domaings ending with 0 are more round and thus better.

3. Lower numbers are typically more valuable, due to higher amount of possibilities and potential uses

4. Repeating digits are good, most valuable will be the domains with many repeating numbers.

5. Numbers ending in “5″ or multiples of “25″ are a little bit better.

6. Numbers that have special meaning, like zip codes, words on mobile devices, area codes etc. represent higher value.

Post more tips below to compile a complete appraising guide!
Also feel free to post some special numbers for appraisal. not the regular random NNNNN's you've just registered, but something more valuable, like 63400, 12349, 77723..

Current min prices for NNNN.com are around $350-400

Feb 20: 4 days after the buyout the min NNNNN.com prices are now basing around $12-15

Check the latest NNNNN.com Price Guide for frequent updates.

I'm thinking around mid $XX now. US zip codes are among the best NNNNN's and since marchex have most of them they are quite rare

heh well it's a good number, but I don't think there is a market for NNNNN.net now.

Although its interesting that marchex redirect all their US zip code NNNNN.com's to NNNNN.net. So I guess they own like a half of NNNNN.net's too

Parkinson's Disease Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) Autism Alzheimer's
how about -> 46457 (.com)

just easy to type - no significant results from Google

I won't be selling it for less than $100, though may take a few years before the market reaches that level.

As funds allow in the near future I'll consider buying similar (easy typers) priced between $10 and $20 (quick buy at $10, might shop around a bit at $20)

But what say you?

Turns out a bunch of domainers from Germany were following the countdown and even buying many of the remaining NNNNN.com's. One even remarked that he tried to register his postal code and it was already gone, so to those of us that bought a lot of foreign postal codes, the world is watching and interested, congrats!

I like it, 464 is a nice sequence and then 57 is a good increasing ending. Easy to remember and it seems like my NNNNN.com's with nice sequences actually get the best type-in traffic so who knows.

yes I've had many visitors on my blog from that forum, also Russians an Chinese domenforum.net, domain.cn

46457 is pretty cool, good to know you won't be looking to sell cheap and quick

I have some foreign codes and I also have a bunch of NNNNNs with around 10 million results in google. It's interesting that smaller number usually have more results in google, which further shows that smaller numbers are more valuable.

Thanks. If I had regged more than a handful, I'd consider doing the "quick flip for instant 50% ROI" (and am hoping you and some other large holders will be putting some cheapies out on the market soon). But the real value in these (as with the "random" LLLL domains) is going to be seen more obviously quite a few years from now - in the meantime will be resellers doing the "future possibility discounted to present value of money" calculation based mostly on scarcity premium.

Noting that I've quickly become pretty fond of these numbers now that I have a few, I'm guessing that there may be an increasing demand among resellers once they try one or 2 on for size. (Strong "hypability" quotient - not being cynical, as I think these do have solid value in the long run - so maybe some very "helpful hype" in play here.)
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=433115

Here are a couple more for evaluation: 47212 (212 is NYC phone area code) and 41556 (415 is San Francisco area code) ...

One of the reasons I like them is that they are fairly easy for the average person to remember - and more so if a chunk of the digits has some meaning.

See here for some interesting reading about human memory -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mag...s_or_Minus_Two

and also the original source material for the "7 plus or minus 2" meme here -> http://www.musanim.com/miller1956/

Does anyone have a US zip code list?

Does anyone have a German or other country post code list?

If so, I'd very much appreciate it if you posted it, so that we can scan our domains against this

I think that anything bought for reg fee in the last two months is probably still worth reg fee. (Some exceptions apply) The significance of a buyout is often overated.

You may have many more foreign postal codes as well, many many countries have 5-digit postal codes.

So German zip codes should be quite valuable
