uk.com seems to make a lot of money off 3rd level domains..

i'd imagine eu.com and us.com do too.

it seems that country abbr will be the most valuable.
2 letters with meanings also like go.com, be.com, do.com, it.com

Other than that, those that are easy to type would get the vote, not necessarily for specific letters (because they're all freely available on the keyboard), but variants that make them easy to find and type. For example, two of the same letters (aa.com, bb.com, xx.com, etc.) would find more users and type-ins, etc., and that would add to their value.

Perfect domain with Perfect site is just like 'Beautiful' face with 'Beautiful' character personality. Firstly it's the face that attracts us.... then it's the character. If character is bad, we oftenly start hating people with beautiful faces. But if the character is good, (socalled) ugly people also become popular... You can numerous examples around and in cyberspace...

eeerrrrr.... this is a user preference question, and all users are different. This user thinks that hi.com is the most valuable... with over 47 million google result and 58183 searches for the month of february it got to be IMO...
