How do i find the best keywords?

I have been looking on google keyword tools but still not sure
Some keywords have 50 000 global searches and they might have 30 million results on google se
What is a good number?
i guess it shouldn't be to many results on google and a high number of searches, then low competition.
Then on the other hand long tail keywords are more searched (70% of all searches)
Can someone tell me how they do?

---------- Post added at 02:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:42 PM ----------

i know i'm spending way to much time on it thats why

the keywords you use on your website, should reflect the domain name and or the subject/service/product content.

I tend to imagine what people are searching for within my niche and tailor it more specifically through the keyword tool. It is certainly helpful. I have been finding it really easy to score visitors with 1,000 or less searches a month and no competition. By the same token finding one with 10,000 more monthly searches and low competition has netted tons of related keywords been ranked as well.

Start with an educated guess..Think about what you are offering to help customers,as people are far more likely to search for a solution to their problem instead of a service or product..

In order to find the best keywords for your website or blog. You can use Google Keyword Tool. Try to follow these tips also:
1. Finding Monthly Keyword Searches. You must take note the ones that have the highest amount of searches per month. Do not include the keywords less than 1500-2000 a month.
2. Keyword Competition. Go through Google and search the keyword word or phrase to find out how many competing websites there are. It is a good keyword if the amount is less than 200K.

First of all a thorough brainstorming on the topic/business is what's most important which will help you shortlist the keywords and then with the help of different keyword tools just check the statistics of those keywords and prepare your final list of keywords.

I agree. I use this tool and choose the keywords based on the number of searches per month plus the level of competition.

Personally, I prefer use google insight tool and then make a post with the keyword. In my personal experience, the keyword should related to our domain name.

1. First of all, select the 10 best keywords for your website (as per your website topic)..

2. Now, pick the best 2-3 keywords on the criteria of high search volume and low competition...
